The speaker, Caroline Ward, on this occasion focused on each individual's capability to live in infinite wisdom and grace. I felt it was motivational but perhaps not offering enough specific strategies for people to get on with. I enjoyed the sentiment but felt it was a bit vague for those just setting out in this field. I always find it's useful to attend an event that doesn't completely hit the spot. This gives me a clearer impression of the type of more proactive workshops I will look to set up at the centre.
On a more positive note, there was some very useful advice given about the concept of a personal 'rhythm'. This initially seems a little abstract, until one tunes into the extent to which we allow our pace in life to be determined by others. I've since enjoyed tuning into my body and exploring this concept. Any readers may also join me in observing that a slower, more pensive pace can often be quite an incredible time saver! Clarity of thought is a gift that springs from taking our time.
For anybody interested in art, I was really pleased to discover the concept of an 'open house' this weekend. One of my friends gave an exhibition of his art in his own house - what a great idea! For anyone like me who loves to paint but is not quite sure where it'll all end up, projects like the one on this link are very inspiring! The initiative continues next weekend, so why not take a peep at the inspiration of others :-) .

Continuing on the artistic theme, another idea that was explored at the talk was that of creating a 'visions board.' This can be a really inspiring technique for anyone who has a vision for the future and really wants to empower in into life. The idea is that you create a collage of all of the images / symbols of your aspiration and then put it up somewhere. This is something I'll be doing personally for my own goals in life (which doesn't have to be 'things', it can be more of a 'way' that you want to be) and so I also felt it could be of use to this project. It will not be about having artistic 'skill' at all (although I believe everyone has it), but rather about having a feeling of how you would like the project to be and then finding an image that represents it. I think that all of these arranged together could create something quite spectacular. And as one of my favorite teachers says, 'our success in life is determined by the vividness of our vision' - and I think this could be a really motivational thing for all of us to get together and do. It could grow over the years and become a really lasting testimony of what Re-Evolve's achieved. Longer down the line... it can be mounted behind glass on a large wall... hmmm sounds delicious. So there's my personal vision of our vision ;-) . For anyone who wants to help me fly with this, get in touch!!
So there is always the risk that I will spend so long blogging, I won't actually do any work! I haven't really finished all that I wanted to write, but more will be coming soon :-) . Time to get on with the actions and reflections that will form the content of my next blog!
Lots of love to you all XX
